RHD PROGRAMS:
RHD - Sojourn – One of the largest Assisted living programs for psychiatric clients in the Philadelphia area. This program provides housing and 24hr/day staffing in a community setting for psychiatric clients, some of whom were formerly institutionalized.
As the Program Medical Professional, my duties include:
- assess clients frequently and determine their current level of psychiatric and medical wellness,
- identify problems and dialogue with appropriate med/psych professionals regarding care.
- ensure that clients receive ongoing care including: medical, psychiatric, eye care, dental, podiatric, and other medical specialist care as appropriate.
- interface frequently with Social Workers, Intensive Case Managers, Office of Mental Health, Psych Crisis Centers, Hospitals, Doctors, and Family Members sharing information when appropriate and coordinating care.
- Handle crisis situations which sometimes must end in voluntary or
involuntary commitments.
- Develop/write trainings and train Residential Aide staff in Medication Supervision, Handling Crisis Situations, Universal Precautions, Infectious Diseases, Diabetes, Vital Signs, Accuchecks, Complete Care and any other needed in-services related to client care.
- On Call 24/7, 365 days/year.
RHD - NOVA I - Assisted living residential program for psychiatric clients who are also medically fragile, also in the Philadelphia area.
As the Director of Nursing, I took on this department with no Nursing Director for some time and a skeleton nursing staff supported by temp nurses. My duties include:
- implemented a charting system, documentation system, and filing system.
- introduced new forms, wrote nursing job descriptions and hired nursing staff and trained them.
- Hire, fire, discipline, supervise and mentor nursing staff.
- Since 2003, the Office of Mental Health has given us the opportunity to expand two different times.

RHD - ADAPT - A small assisted living residential program located in a house in Upper Darby, with 3 psychiatric clients and 24hr/day Residential Aide staff. As Program Medical Professional, my duties are the same as those at Sojourn.
