UNIT SUPERVISOR & STAFF NURSE – Burn Intensive Care Unit 2009–Present

Note: PRN since 4/2011 – Alternate supervisor & staff title depending on unit needs on a given shift.
Promoted to Unit Supervisor in less than 6 months.
Helped modify process and techniques for wound care taught to junior nurses.
Assisted in implementation of new patient tracking system, resulting in improved patient care.
Developed the Patient Intake Referral and Outpatient Clinic Patient History & Assessment forms which streamlined the Burn Unit admittance process. These forms are still used today.
Assisted in writing policies and protocols, and acquisition of equipment and materials prior to unit opening in Fall 2009.

• Conduct pulmonary assessments, administer medications/transfusions, monitor pain, etc.
• Provide post-mortem care when necessary.
• Serve as liaison between physicians and patients to ensure understanding of treatment plans.
